Traineeship Programme

Wiersholm has a well-established traineeship programme for students who desire insight into life as a lawyer at a business law firm. The primary intention of the traineeship programme is to ensure recruitment of the best candidates from the universities by offering them a taste of working life at Wiersholm.
Wiersholm employs several law students from the three universities in Norway at any given time through this programme. The duration of a traineeship is usually 4-6 weeks.

To ensure that you feel well taken care of as a trainee, you will be affiliated with one of our departments, where an associate will be appointed as your sponsor during your stay.

As a trainee you will generally have the same type of assignments as our lawyers, but you will receive special follow-up by the firm. We place great emphasis on offering varied assignments, which may consist of reports, studies and letter writing, or the preparation of and participation in meetings with clients, as well as negotiations and trials together with our associates and lawyers. We will do our best to provide optimal follow-up during your traineeship, as well as constructive feed-back at the end.

We make an active effort to protect the good environment at Wiersholm, and as a trainee you will of course participate in the social events that take place during your stay with us.


Who can apply for a traineeship at Wiersholm?

We place great emphasis on academic performance during the recruitment process. Since we desire an environment that is made up of social and committed employees, we also attach importance to pursuits outside your actual study programme. We see that students will profit the most from a traineeship when they have completed two to three years of their law studies, however, this is not an absolute requirement.

When should you apply for a traineeship?

We evaluate all applications as they are received. We recommend that you apply early, and we are happy to consider applications for traineeships well in advance of the planned start-up.
