Yara has hired Wiersholm

Yara International ASA has decided to institute an external investigation in relation to establishment and follow-up of Yara’s ownership interest in Libyan Norwegian Fertilizer Company (Lifeco).

Yara has notified the Norwegian National Authority for Investigation and Prosecution of Economic and Environmental Crime (ØKOKRIM) of the possibility that crimes may have been committed before October 2008 in connection with the negotiations prior to the company’s investments in Libya.

The external investigation will be lead by Jan Fougner, partner in Wiersholm. In addition to the Libyan collaborating company, the investigation will also have the authority to consider possible integrity problems related to other collaborating companies. Yara is not aware of any so-called “red flags” for potential breach of ethical guidelines related to other collaborating companies.
