Norwegian company legislation is based on a fundamental principle of the employees’ right of codetermination, and employees in limited liability companies and public limited liability companies have, under certain conditions, the right to representation on the company’s board and/or corporate assembly.

The regulatory framework is divided over several acts and regulations, and it can be difficult to grasp.
